We devise, develop, produce and manage programmes and projects - using different art forms as medium for exploring and commenting on key contemporary social issues.
We work in the UK and in Europe, involving carefully chosen local partners, and innovative collaborations.
All of our most recent initiatives are featured on BBC online - see BBC - Video ART Postcards, BBC - Belonging and BBC - Breaking into the Museum.
We are also present on ARTE Creative Platform - The Franco-German Cultural TV channel.
Manifesta uses in particular film and video production, and has a special focus on young people. Heritage is often a strong element in its work.
Manifesta also provides consultancy services on UK/European initiatives - advice, strategic development and evaluation

In 2010, Manifesta has embarked on a new pilot project Breaking into the Museum, a creative initiative for young people, focusing on heritage and fresh interpretations and perspectives in curating for museums. The project started in London, with the Museum of London and funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund, and we are currently finalising funding for additional workshops in Paris and Lisbon, working with their respective city museums Musée carnavalet and Museu da Cidade, and with the support of the European Cultural Foundation and the Mairie de Paris. More information coming soon!
